Experian Consumer Direct with Sponsors The Joyful Feast Event Designed to Raise Child Safety Awareness

All proceeds from the gala event will support The Joyful Child Foundation's efforts to prevent predatory crimes against children

Irvine, Calif., Oct. 15, 2007 - Experian Consumer DirectSM, the leading provider of online direct-to-consumer credit reports, scores and monitoring products including, today announced its support of The Joyful Feast, a fundraising event designed to celebrate The Joyful Child Foundation's accomplishments and raise funds to expand its efforts to prevent predatory crimes against children. The event takes place Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at The Grove of Anaheim, Calif. and features a live, half-hour acoustic performance by Grammy-winning artist Cyndi Lauper.

The Joyful Child Foundation is a nonprofit, for public benefit organization dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse and abduction through programs that unite and uplift communities. The foundation was inspired by the life of Samantha Runnion, whose life was cut short after being abducted in front of her Orange County, Calif. home in the summer of 2002, just days before her sixth birthday.

"Experian Consumer Direct is proud to be a major sponsor of The Joyful Feast and shares a common goal with The Joyful Child Foundation in supporting efforts to protect children," said Ty Taylor, president of Experian Consumer Direct. "Founding Director Erin Runnion is an inspiration to everyone for her tireless dedication and determination in spearheading child protection initiatives."

Earlier this month Experian Consumer Direct launched, a new resource to help parents and guardians monitor for identity theft that may be affecting them and their children. Through the Web site, parents and guardians can enroll themselves and their children in a comprehensive credit monitoring product that alerts them of key changes in their credit file and their children's that could be a sign of identity theft.

"Child predators prey on the innocence of children and it is up to us, both as individuals and as a community, to take away their opportunities and protect children from these horrific crimes," said Erin Runnion, founding director, The Joyful Child Foundation. "We are extremely grateful for Experian Consumer Direct's generous support of the Joyful Child Foundation and applaud their continued efforts to educate and empower families on child protection issues."

About The Joyful Child Foundation

The Joyful Child Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit for public benefit organization dedicated to protecting our nation's children from sexual abuse through programs that unite and uplift our nation's communities in the protection and wonderment of all children. The Joyful Child was inspired by the life of Samantha Runnion, a beautiful, bright, joyful little girl with a passion for art.

Samantha's life was cut short as the youngest victim of the summer of abductions in 2002. The Joyful Child focuses on proactive measures to deal with the difficult issue of violence against children. Samantha's PRIDE Community Awareness and Child Watch program launched in 2004 to strengthen communities and protect children from predators. Today, PRIDE Protectors participate in PRIDES throughout 30 Southern California communities; effectively protecting thousands of children around their neighborhood schools and parks.

Since founding The Joyful Child Foundation in her daughter's memory, Erin Runnion works tirelessly to develop and promote programs that help prevent violent crimes against children. Erin is recognized as a leading advocate of community programs to protect children, and appears frequently on major media outlets including ABC's Good Morning America, NBC's Today, CBS's The Early Show and CNN's Larry King Live to educate parents and communities about child protection issues.
